Providing Support – and Getting Support in Return
Michele McKeon, Chief Petty Officer, Hospital Corpsman, USNR
“I chose the Navy Reserve because it gives me a balance. I can do my civilian job, be home with my family and then have that military experience.”

When Michele McKeon separated from the Army to start a family, she imagined the service chapter of her life had come to a close. But a funny thing happened as her kids grew older and time went by – she began to miss the military, especially the camaraderie.
“I was actually going to go back into the Army, but the Navy kind of offered me a little bit more,” says McKeon. So Michele enlisted in the Navy Reserve, learned and developed her skills as a Hospital Corpsman and rose to the rank of Chief, a title fewer than 10% of Sailors achieve.
Today, Michele combines her part-time service with a full-time job at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, a company which, like thousands of other companies and individuals, is proud to serve our country.
